As official distributors ZF Sachs, Schaeffler LuK and Miba Frictec, we only use certified friction materials that meet manufacturers’ OEM specifications. Any reconstruction is checked before delivery by qualified technicians with decades of experience in HDV transmissions.
What is the refurbishment of a clutch?
Clutch reconstruction is the process of fully restoring a damaged clutch system – disc or plateau – with new high-end friction materials, without replacing the entire assembly. The result is a functionality equivalent to a new spare part at a cost of 40 – 60% lower.
The remanufacturing process shall include full dismantling and quality control of all parts, removal of worn friction coating, application of new high quality thermite, reintroduction of flatness and geometry, and final equilibrium control.
- Disassembly and control of all parts
- Removal of old friction coating
- Application of new high-end thermite
- Reset disc flatness and plateau
- Final balance and functionality check
For which vehicles do we reconstruct a clutch?
Our remanufacturing plant covers a wide range of commercial and agricultural vehicles. Please contact us for confirmation of application to a specific model.
How does the Reconstruction Process work?
The reconstruction of a clutch at the crown of Plastotechnics follows four clear steps:
Refurbishment of clutch vs New market: Comparison
The choice between remanufacturing and purchasing a new spare part depends on the cost, availability and needs of the vehicle. The table below summarises the main differences:
| Criterion | Rebuilding of chickpeas | New OEM market |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | 40 – 60% lower | OEM full cost |
| Time of delivery | 1 – 3 working days | Immediately (if stock exists) |
| Availability | Even for old models | Depends on factory stock |
| Quality of materials | High end genuine friction materials (Miba, Schaeffler) | Factory OEM |
| Circular economy | ✓ Reduces metal waste | ✗ new consumption of resources |
| Ideal for | Old models, rare applications, large fleets with budget control | New factory-guaranteed models |
Why choose Plastotechnics?

- Nationwide coverage: same day mission to all of Greece – you don't need to come to Thessaloniki

- Coverage of old models: solution even when the genuine OEM kit is not available or has disproportionate costs
Frequently Asked Questions on Reconstruction of Truck Clutch
How much does the reconstruction of a truck clutch cost?
The cost depends on the size and type of the clutch, as well as the degree of wear and tear. In general, reconstruction costs 40 – 60% less than the purchase of a new original OEM kit. Please contact us for an accurate evaluation and uncommitted offer.
Can I send the club from another city?
Yes, we receive shipments from all over Greece via transport companies (ELTA Courier, ACS, DHL and others). Upon receipt of the part, we immediately inform you of the cost and delivery time.
How long does the clutch reconstruction last?
Usually 1 – 3 working days after receipt of the part. In emergencies, contact us directly for prioritisation.
Do you provide a guarantee for reconstructions?
Any remanufacturing shall be performed to the highest professional standards, using genuine friction materials of certified manufacturers (Miba Frictec, Schaeffler LuK). The results are strictly checked before delivery.
Can you rebuild an old truck model clutch?
Yes. This is one of the key advantages of reconstruction: we can restore old discs and flat even when the new OEM kit is no longer available or is disproportionately expensive.
